Lamentations 3:22-23” The steadfast of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning, Great is thy faithfulness.”
A familiar memory verse but, as always, gives new perspective and new meaning each time that I think through the passage.
“His steadfast love never ceases” . I have looked up through the available Thesaurus for other words of steadfast. I came up with a few; unwavering, persistent, reliable, dependable, constant. Gods love is unwavering, It does not change even when I become so faithless and unfaithful. It does not depend on the error of my ways and my weaknesses. His love is persistent, constantly vailable for me through good times and bad times.. It does not empty out.
“His mercies never come to an end”. Sometimes, I feel like I have always been asking God for mercy. From my limited human perspective, I would think that He must be full of my asking. I always ask Him to look down at me with favour, with His mercy, with His grace, with His compassion. I ask Him for healing, for comfort, for peace, for forgiveness. Anything and Everything. Over and over again.
Yet there comes a time that one feels so unworthy of His love to receive anything and a natural tendency to stop asking.
It is so inspiring and encouraging to be reminded that His mercies never come to an end. These are new every morning. I would have all that I could ask for throughout the day and then continue to ask the next day. I will not at any time run out of His mercy!
"Great is thy faithfulness." His steadfast love for me will save me and deliver me from this seemingly medically irreversible sickness. God will deliver me in His own perfect time and in His own perfect way. Indeed, great is His faithfulness.
