Health Update Sent to Friends
“ He will call upon me and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him.” Psalms 91:15
It has been a very busy and challenging week for us last week. After an an X-ray and blood test, a meeting with the doctors in the Hospice, an assessment with my medical oncologist, I was given a medical prognosis: As far as the chemotheraphy and radiation treatment go, there’s nothing more that could be done. From a medical point of view, all that they could offer as an option is to make my life as comfortable as possible, that is to eliminate symptomatic conditions of the disease (pain maintenance).
Not a very good prognosis from medical point of view but I never had any doubt that God is perfectly in control. With God’s grace, Paco and I have peaceful and quiet hearts all throughout these assessments.
I also kept reminding myself of the memory verses I had:
Philippians 4:6,7 . ‘Not to be anxious about anything but in everything give my request to God and He will give me peace and quietness of heart beyond human understanding Isaiah 41.10 ‘Not to fear and be dismayed because He is my God Psa 91:14-16 ‘to believe that He hears my prayers and will rescue and protect me Psa 118:17 “ I shall not die but live and declare the glory of the Lord.
As far is the verse is concerned, I believe that everybody will pass away, there is just no exemption!!! but I refuse to be overcome by this disease. God’s Word is more powerful that any sickness. It is not God’s will that anyone should suffer from this disease!!
Everyday within the past weeks have been days of miracles for me, a testament to answered prayers and God’s guiding and helping Hand.
This song from Don Moen is so apt:
God will make a way
where there seems to be no way.
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
For each new day, he will make a way
…His word will remain
He will do something new today.
Right now, we are praying for the True physician to stretch out His Healing Hand. We pray that His glory, His power and His majesty will be magnified upon us. He is the sovereign God, His powerful WORD is eternal and personal. He is still the creative Word, He is still the incarnate Word and He is still the Saving Word (John 1:1-14). And the WORD is with us, praise Him (this is from Paco).
